Cressey's First Bid Day

Since HG's first bid day last year, she's been looking forward to going to this year's event. Cressey was invited along at long last, so off we set for Oxford on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Trying to explain a sorority to Cressey was entertaining to say the least. And after hauling our local alumnae's gifts over the hills and through the woods to the house, Cress wasn't much interested in finding out about this bid day thing! But she soon saw a table full of cookies and lots of girls running around, and she came around to the idea. We watched the girls run down the hill from the upstairs balcony with cookies in hand, and afterward, we got to check out our cousin Aggie's room. I could see HG's wheels spinning as she took in the life of a college girl. It was fun to see her imagining herself there! After we took our traditional pics in my special wingback chair and got to visit with HG's birthday twin, Knox, we hit the road home. Cressey barely made it out of the city limits before she fell asleep, but she held onto that Sonic cup!

Mama put HG to work carrying gifts to the house

HG and Knox were born within hours of each other!

Just a sampling of HG in this special chair with me

And Cressey's first time in it (in utero, March 2016)
