Spring Break 2019: Swimming with Dolphins

Sunday the 10th brought a fun new adventure- dolphins!!! We headed to Dolphin Cay first thing that morning for Dip 'n Discover. Can you believe John was able to get Cressey into a wet suit?? We were lucky that the photos were taken first thing because as soon as they were done, Cressey wandered out of the water and toward Granddaddy and Spiffer who were sitting nearby to play in the sand for the rest of the time. (Note: they paid to 'observe' at this close distance. If you don't pay, you have to observe from the entrance area where you wouldn't be able to see a thing. Even as close as they were, they couldn't get any pics of us in the water due to the angle, so we still paid the $100 for the professional pics.) The water was cold, and Cressey didn't have the patience to wait on all the other people's photos. She is still talking about the slimy fish she got to feed the dolphin though! We loved getting to pet the dolphin and get to see him do tricks up close.

Then, of course, we headed to the beach where the girls played in the sand and surf all day. We even had lunch brought to us right there on the beach. Eventually, we were able to talk Cressey into a bubble bath, and afterward, she collapsed into a nap on the couch.

That night, we opted to cancel our reservation at another fancy restaurant and try a local place down at the marina, Frankie Gone Bananas. It was much more casual and offered some of the local Bahamian favorites. And we had to hit up Ben & Jerry's again! Then we walked through the casino in the Royal to get to the Dig aquarium, a huge downstairs area of the lobby holding ruins and thousands of fish. It was amazing, and the girls could have stayed there all night! We walked outside to look down into the aquarium and ended up wandering around exploring all of the outside gardens at the Royal (even more beautiful at sunset!) and then making our way back through the water park to our hotel.

Breakfast buffet- Starbucks' bagels, protein bars, Girl Scout cookies, and bananas

Let's see how this goes...

In and out, in and out

Look at that dolphin in the air!

And she's out and ready to play in the sand!

Take me to the beach!

Can you see those angel fish-ish down there? There were huge schools of them that would just swim right up to you.

Let's move to the beach.

And she's done!

When Mama wanted a pic but Cress wouldn't cooperate, her sister tried to rescue the pic.

Real life with sisters

There's a water slide that takes you through the shark tank!
