HG is officially a REBEL!!!

August 1: Ole Miss application opened, and HG was ready and waiting!

We were told the day before that Ole Miss might start rolling acceptances Sept 1st. The website had said "Decision Made" for days but no decision noted. But during the day at school on Sept 1st- divinely while HG was in the senior lounge at school- she checked her Ole Miss portal. And she was ACCEPTED!!!! Katherine heard the band start playing the fight song, grabbed her phone, and videoed her clicking the button and giving the landshark! She also got a video of her writing her name on the white board of the senior class' college commitments! It was so exciting! She facetimed me from the lounge to celebrate real quick before she had to go to class. SUCH A SPECIAL MOMENT.

I had to go out and get balloons and flowers to surprise her when she got home. GD and Spiffer came to take Cressey to violin so I could be home when she got home, and she was so touched and wanted to talk all about it.

Something hits different now with it being HER school now. She's loving meeting all her new classmates (through Instagram)!

Toohig Tidbits: August

Soaking up every last minute of summer

Oooohh, Cressey feels so cool in Granddaddy's Corvette!

Morning meeting

Teddy has now become a cuddler with Cressey on the couch

Cressey and I went to see Hadestown in the movie theatre, and it was fantastic!!

An unexpected childhood bestie night with CB, Larry, and Billy

I'm trying to make this year 'the year of yesses.' HG wanted to see Olivia Dean in concert. She was playing at Madison Square Garden the weekend after school started, so we jumped up there for a quick weekend of fun.

Din Tai Fung was a huge crowd pleaser, and we tried and ranked all the things

The girls went back to the condo to get ready, so I found myself a great people watching spot and enjoyed the beautiful weather. It was in the 80s while it was 100 at home.

Headed to the new La Pecora Bianca on Broadway

Olivia was AMAZING live. So cute, so kind, so talented.

Walked the Brooklyn Bridge Sunday morning before our flight

Ice cream break in Dumbo

She is constantly standing back to back with Grandma, determined to outgrow her

Loving her dressage lessons

When HG and I were separately coming back from Oxford one day, a terrible storm rolled in. Awful winds and lightning. John was constantly checking the radar and telling each of us where to go, when to stop, etc. HG had to stop at Grandma's to dodge some of it, and I had to turn around, go back to Oxford, and come back home via 55. He sweetly met me in the garage with a drink in hand! Granddaddy had fun adding this background to my pic lol!

HG and Chace's one year anniversary!

They had a Monster taste test and let Cressey try some too

Never turned down a cup of fruit

At upper school meet the teacher night, I loved seeing this baby pic of HG for senior officers

Teddy loves to help Cressey get ready for school (from the sink, of course)

Hello Ham!

Another FNL against White Station

Madonna came to help them cheer in the first half!

HG and Claire like to show off their new trick (with KK's spotting help)

Spiffer and GD came to cheer her on

And to see her banner, of course!

Back to School Dance

Cressey and I went to see Music Man at Theatre Memphis with her 'theatre club' from school
