Helen Grace: 11

  • She weighs 90 pounds (66th percentile) and is 4 ft 11.5 in tall (82nd percentile).
  • She's really into theatre right now- both being in shows and going to them.
  • She is a big beach girl but also a pool girl. Happiest when she's in the water.
  • Loves to ride her bike- a great stress reliever for her
  • Still in love with horses. Roannie is her favorite, although he's notoriously a booger of a horse. She always picks the underdog (or horse).
  • Was excited to try softball again but quarantine squashed that. Enjoyed soccer this past fall too.
  • Courageous trier of new things
  • Very loyal to her friends, probably prefers a small group of very close friends to a larger circle
  • Big YouTube watcher- Brooklyn & Bailey especially. Could play on her iPad for hours.
  • She had been able to text grandparents, but we've let her text her classmates during quarantine. Surprisingly, she's not consumed by it.
  • Loves slime and making things with her hands. Very creative.
  • Loves her sister (mostly). They've played together a lot during quarantine, even in the play room!
  • Loves GD's sweet tea. Ice cream and cookie dough (raw or ice cream) are her lifelines.
  • Still loves to sleep in mama's bed. Needs melatonin and someone with her to fall asleep. Lovey, blankey, Henry, pillow still required.
  • Breakfast is pancakes, had been cinnamon rolls. Chick-fil-A and donuts are special treats. Big milk fan. Still hates cokes, thank goodness!
  • HATES to dress in anything more than tshirt and shorts
  • Growing like a weed- wearing a size 7 shoes now
  • Begs for a dog every day. Couldn't love our cats more. Blue is definitely her cat.
  • She is doing a really good job of learning to cook. She can make eggs, quesadillas, toast, etc. on her own, and she's helped me make banana bread, cakes, lasagna, meatballs.
  • She's moved to the front seat and talks my ear off- and changes the radio station more than I ever thought possible.
  • I see her maturing right in front of my eyes as she learns to care for her body. She's now conscious of her daily water consumption, likes to use nice face washes and scrubs, wants her hair to look nice, etc.
  • She tells her grandparents she loves them anytime she leaves them or hangs up a phone call with them.
HG really helped me decorate the house for Cressey's birthday after C went to bed, but I was on my own for HG's and really felt the loss! I still managed to surprise her though! Her birthday fell on Memorial Day this year, just like the day she was born.

Rollerblades!

We went to the Browns' to swim, and she and I made some cupcakes to share there. She wanted everyone to be able to decorate as they wished.

Happy girl!

She got shout outs on IG

The Ducks sent her a very sweet serenade

As we left the Browns', I drove like we were going home and then headed east. She didn't notice a thing until we turned onto Maddie's street! We brought Maddie home for a slumber party- the first time she's been able to have a friend inside, much less spend the night, since February. She was so excited that she jumped out of the car before I put it in park!

Cake and pizza- and GD's ice cream- with Maddie and grandparents Monday night

Meanwhile, the Eskrigges had mailed both girls their matching birthday gifts, and Cressey was thoroughly excited that they arrived! She has worn it SO MUCH.

Make up was a big hit this year, and it kept the girls busy most of the night

The big smiles are thanks to Maddie clowning me behind the camera

Make up by HG

It's officially 9:21 p.m. on May 25th!

She woke up on Tuesday to find a birthday sign outside

And the Ducks did a drive by!

Meanwhile, Cressey had her first day of swim lessons. She was excited to go and excited at pick up.

Tuesday afternoon, HG's classmates did a birthday drive by and then came to the front yard for a Mempop and some Hydroflask stickers.

Happy girls!

Even HG's teacher, Ms. Healy, came by

She loved letting a balloon go

Worn out from all that celebrating
