CMT's First Disney: Day Two

Saturday morning, we took our time getting up and going. We snacked for breakfast and headed to the Magic Kingdom, this time via the monorail. The girls had a big time playing on that. We arrived a little before the performance at the castle and then the dance parade started, so we staked out a spot in the shade for the festivities. Cressey liked the performance, but when the parade started, it was awfully loud and she wasn't a big fan. That's ok; we used it to our advantage to sneak off to Dumbo while the crowds were watching the parade. Dumbo was a HUGE hit, and she wanted to do it again. Line was forever long, so we headed to Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe to grab a bite and regroup. We were able to find a Fast Pass for the Tea Cups after lunch- woo hoo! She loved it at first, but once HG and I got it going, I think she figured out what 'dizzy' means and got a little starry-eyed. Afterward, we walked across to Adventureland to explore the Swiss Family Treehouse. Then, HG and I rode the Barnstormer while John and Cressey rode Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride. As the sky was getting dark with threatening clouds, we decided to head to the monorail to get to Epcot before the rain hit.

As we strolled up to the monorail station (with a majority of the park), we realized Cressey was sound asleep in the stroller! She slept for at least an hour as we arrived at Epcot (which was having their Flower & Garden Festival- beautiful!), hid under awnings from the rain, and then hopped from country to country as we dodged showers. She woke up in time for ice cream in France, of course! We wandered through the countries until our dinner reservation with the princesses at Akershus in Norway (Cress even chose to forgo meeting Elsa to keep playing with HG on the rocks outside our restaurant), and we worried we might have a short night when she completely shut down as we saw Belle at the front door. She refused to take a pic (with her face showing, anyway). But she got comfortable as we were seated and got some food, and when the other princesses started walking around, she was IN HEAVEN. She was so cute and chatty with all of them, telling them all kinds of tall tales. When the parade music came on, she grabbed my hand, and off we went on a parade around the restaurant. Even HG seemed happy and into the princess magic- it was a wonderful night!

We headed back to the hotel for more pool time, but as John and HG were just getting into the pool, they had to close it for lightening. They were so sad! John found ice cream and snacks which saved the night, and after a massive storm blew threw (that we watched from the comfort of our room), the fireworks surprised us and were able to happen too! A perfect finale for our trip!

Favorite Memories from Disney World

Helen Grace: Fireworks, walking past candy shops and snack shops/ people watching, when Cress told Aurora about her pet dragon, pool slide
Cressey: Fireworks ("I draw them with chalk when I get home"), pool
Sha: Riding roller coaster with HG, watching Cressey's excitement over princesses
John: Watching Cressey's excitement over characters and riding Dumbo, pool fun

Cressey's first monorail (She's not sleepy, just not agreeing to the pic)

If you are looking at the castle from Main Street, just to either side is a little turret/ fort. The one to the right was perfectly shaded during the morning parade and made for the best waiting/ watching spot.

"Ok, people, too loud!"

Dumbo!

Magic Carpet Ride

Barnstormer

Here comes the rain! HG was the only one that was excited about it.

Posing like Elsa and Anna

Akershus

Princess parade at dinner (she was a lot happier than she looks in this pic, I promise)

Headed back to the room after a long, fun day

Cressey wanted to snuggle with daddy that night

Still couldn't get that princess dress off of her; going on day #2 in it
