Helen Grace and I spent the day with one of my oldest and craziest, I mean dearest, friends and her girls today. Brandy, Remle, Daily, and Frankie met us at the Pink Palace to check out the Enchanted Forest together and enjoy a holiday date.
On a side note, I had never really thought about the name of the museum, but HG was SO excited to see a pink castle. I tried to set her expectations that we would not be seeing a princess while we were there. Also, on the way, she told me, “Babies say ‘Magic Forest’ instead of ‘Enchanted Forest’ because ‘enchanted’ is a big girl word and babies can’t say it.” Whoa.
Helen Grace and the girls had a blast at the Enchanted Forest (especially since HG can’t remember ever going before), and this year, they had a great time checking off all the items on the scavenger hunt. HG didn’t want to have anything to do with Santa at the end of the forest, but luckily, we already have a really amazing pic with Santa from school. When we realized that it wasn’t even 10 o’clock and we were already through the forest, we decided to surprise the girls with a trip to the zoo. Man, they were so excited!
The girls ran wild through the zoo, enjoying the pretty, crisp day, and our trip was mainly reptile themed since the Remle is a big lizard and snake fan. With Zoo Lights going on over the holidays, the zoo has brought in a Ferris wheel, and we decided to indulge in a special treat- a first for the Mattice girls! And thankfully, this one didn’t rock too much, so I was happy!
As Brandy and I walked behind our WILD clan of girls and watched them holding hands, chatting, and laughing, we chuckled and thought about how far we’ve come together in the last 28 years!
