Spring Break 2025: Gulfport Show Week 1

HG went to her first show in Gulfport for two weekends of Spring Break. John went down with us the first weekend, and we stayed in an AirBnB right at the water. After the show, the girls and I planned to go to the Grand in Fairhope, AL, for a few days, but after a night, we decided to head home and sleep in our own beds for a few nights- and then drive back to Gulfport for the second weekend. Here are some pics from our first weekend...

Cayman was WORN OUT from his ride down to the coast

Spring Mill/ Aintree had a great set up in a barn right at the practice and show rings

Let's do this! Thursday's practice

And a playground!!

Ready to show on Friday. They had 'blue-red ribbon rounds' on Fridays where you get a ribbon depending on how high your score was, not putting you against your class. That was a fun change!

We promised her she could get to the beach. It was a block from our house. Sand was beautiful, water not so much. And COLD.

Finding out one of her BFFs is moving back to Memphis this summer!

Overcome with emotion

Saturday:

Cayman's tail is so thick that he doesn't have to have a tail extension

Cressey was entertained by a friend of mine's preschool teacher, and they went to Lynn Meadows Discovery Center

And then after HG finished, she and I explored the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies

Dinner at Shaggy's

Sunday:

The girls and I headed toward Fairhope via Ocean Springs. I just had to stop at the Walter Anderson Museum, and it did not disappoint!

The Grand Hotel in Fairhope, Alabama

We spent a night and morning here, trying to explore and get outside (it is a beautiful and camp-y resort), but it was COLD and RAINY- while it was warm and sunny at home. After a night of all sleeping in one room, we decided to head home and sleep in our own beds and swim in our warm heated pool for a few days before heading back to Gulfport for week 2!

SO windy!

Not even a strawberry daquiri could sweeten our moods

Loving having a chaffeur

Ahhhhh, a bike ride without a mis-sized helmet!

And friend time for both girls
