I believe that summer has officially arrived in Mississippi (and I’m only being slightly facetious). We skipped right over the end of winter and our two days of spring weather (60-degree temps) and are now consistently having temps in the 70s and 80s. {I have had to make several emergency trips to Target for short sleeves and shorts!} We are enjoying these ‘mild’ temps and bracing for the blazing weather we know is around the corner.
While we were outside one night this week, catching up with neighbors, the ice cream truck drove by. All the kids went running, and of course, HG turned to me with that age old request in her eyes. And since everyone else was getting a sweet treat, we had to have one too...our very first ice cream truck purchase! The popsicle she choose turned out to be a sour one, so Mama ended up eating most of it. She had a few good licks and had the requisite sticky, green hands, but it was all worth it for the fun(ny) memory!
Another spring/summertime treat has been taking lots of walks around the neighborhood in the evening. We’ll come home, stick something in the oven, and then head out for a little stroll. The other night, we asked Miss Chatter Box to tell us about her day, and this is our little busy body’s answer. As demonstrated by the end, she’s getting to the point of violent protest when she realizes she’s being filmed. She gets that from her daddy.
