John and I got away for a long weekend to Yosemite. We loved getting to sleep late and not be on a schedule, and the park had beautiful views, huge landscapes of granite, waterfalls, and forests. We luckily had some sunshine on our first afternoon, but it rained almost every minute of the rest of our trip. And guess who didn’t bring any rain gear?? I had obviously taken my Mom hat off and was not prepared. The positive spin on the rain was that it made the waterfalls come back to life. They were quite dry when we got there. They are feed from snow melt and are gushing in the spring but very dry by late summer. Enjoy the pics, and a big THANK YOU to all of HG’s grandparents for letting us have a child-free vacation!
Welcome to Yosemite! Tunnel View on our first day El Capitan And this is how El Capitan looked for most of our trip… The squirrels were crazy and not scared of anything. Bambi Olmstead Point Half Dome Bridalveil Fall Upper and Lower Yosemite Falls Half Dome in the pouring down rain Ahwahnee Hotel Lower Yosemite Falls If you look closely, you can see the two falls. This fog was awful. We couldn’t see more than a car length in front of us. Tunnel View on our way out of the park…glad we got some sunny pics on our first day! Our view from our balcony
