Toohig Tidbits: December; College Football Playoffs & Christmas

Sisters sharing the ring

Julia came to town for a visit!

Cressey chose Helen Keller for her 4th grade biography report. It was a huge project with a lot of parts, and she did great getting it all done. She was most excited about dressing up as Helen Keller and doing a presentation for her class. She had NO IDEA that her sister had also chosen Helen Keller for her 4th grade project!

Neon Mooners!

Sunny loves this spot right now, when he's not on HG's pillow

John let Cressey take apart an old computer and taught her about all the pieces. She was so on fire about it that she asked me to send pics of it to Mrs. Marking so she could share with her friends.

More Shiloh snuggles

HG MADE this in her art class!

Cress is on a crochet kick

We missed a pic before Grandma left, but the grandparents were so proud!

Worth is ENGAGED to Sara Hayden!

Ole Miss made it to the College Football Playoff for the first time and without the weight of our what's-his-name coach. It was wild to be in Oxford at a football game in December. Couldn't have had a better day of weather and time together with family and friends. We played- and beat easily- Tulane (again). The game entertainment was wild. We set a record for the largest crowd wearing Santa hats, Apache helicopters flew over, there was a huge drone show, we all had LED bracelets on that lit up all night and put on a show of their own, and the firework budget must have been INSANE.

Meanwhile, Cressey was entertained by VERY sweet friends so that she could go to their "theatre club's" field trip to see the Grinch at the Orpheum. She also got to cheer on the class basketball team, and Mrs. Marking came!

EK!!

My parents came with us, and they got to visit with Whitney's parents

The cutest Santa

 They were so cute

Got to meet up with William

Ready for the Grinch!

My parents bought me a brick when I graduated, but as the school has done construction projects, it's been lost. So my dad asked them to recreate it, added my married name, and got one for John too! John and CB found the bricks on the Walk of Champions on their morning walk. Very cool!

This Penny cat can be a major snuggler in the morning and on her own terms, of course

Cressey made GD's homemade ice cream for Christmas lunch!

Birthday kittens (Dec 23)

Santa needed help babysitting a kitten (a gift for a little boy) for a few minutes on Christmas Eve while he visited some kiddos in the hospital nearby, and we were more than happy to help.

Santa's ready!

The Apple pencil and iPad were big hits

John made fun of me for the amount of Diet Cokes (and wine) on the table, but they weren't all mine!

We had a family date night to the Grizz game when they played the Milwaukee Bucks. We haven't had a lot of luck getting Cressey to Grizz games in the past, but she's been a little interested in basketball since she went to her classmates' game. John narrated the whole game to her, and she listened to every single word, transfixed. Then she got to high five a ton of Bucks players, and she was hooked!

You know I can't resist Grizz when I see him!

We call this the 'Penny Flop'

We took advantage of a night with nice weather and checked out the zoo's new lantern festival. It was AMAZING!

Had to treat Cressey to a little friend time over the break

What most of our nights looked like between Christmas and NYE- pretty perfect!

They look so 'cute,' right? Didn't last long before the scrapping started

A disaster waiting to happen

I don't think I took a single pic on NYE. Cressey, John, and I stayed in, and HG hung out with friends. A very chill and restful night!
