Sophomore Spirit Week

Helen Grace was so honored and excited to serve as her class' co-spirit week coordinator for her sophomore year along with Mary Caroline. She had some experience under her belt from freshman year and was even more enthused by all the spirit week traditions and competitions after seeing it up close last year. She and MC worked beautifully and tirelessly together to make their class' Trolls skit award-winning, and they blew it out of the park! I love seeing how our school pulls the girls together with school spirit all the time but especially during spirit week!

CMT's 9th Birthday

  • She's the tallest of her class; shoe size is a women's size 6.
  • She's conquered riding a bike this year. Whoooohoooo!!!
  • She's become a big reader. Loves the Cat Warrior series. Even cried when one book ended the other day. Made her book loving mama really happy!
  • She had eight teeth pulled (4 needed to make room for adult teeth coming in, 4 that were loose that she chose to have pulled so that she didn't have to do it herself). Lots of nerves that morning. She was put to sleep at Dr. B's office and didn't even know she had an IV until she was in the car and asked why she had a bandaid. After a day or two, she was so proud of herself and said it was no big deal.
  • She loves strawberries, blueberries, bagel bites, mini corn dogs, apple juice, lemonade, pasta, and strawberry or vanilla ice cream.
  • She still hates socks and shoes.
  • She's very cautious and likes to feel safe and secure, although she's still very brave once she feels comfortable. She's been cantering a lot!
  • She's SILLY and very imaginative. Always coming up with stories and designing dresses and hairstyles. Talks constantly.
  • She picked up violin this year and loved it. Still riding. Dropped archery after Christmas because she felt overprogrammed and wanted a down day.
  • She loves swimming more than life itself.
  • She loves all animals and reptiles. Will probably have a farm full of animals as an adult.
  • You'll not meet anyone more kind or loyal. Loves to make people feel included. She was given the St. Sebastian Award for her class- "Being gracious and positive in all situations"
  • She and I have argued over a year about her middle part that she insists on doing (instead of her natural side part).
  • She's an eager learner. Was awarded top honors in Science and Religion. Made a 100 on her US States test, but don't quiz her on multiplication facts!
  • She'll go to sleep in her own bed (with some arm twisting), but she will wake up on the floor in our room. Although, she can sleep over at friends' houses alright. Might need a mama to sit in the room til she falls asleep, but she'll make it all night.

  • what do you want to be when you grow up? figure skater (this is new as of this month, she's asking for classes now)
  • where do you want to go to college? Ole Miss
  • where do you think you'll live when you grow up? Florida because it's close to the beach
  • what's your favorite singer/ YouTuber? Taylor Swift, Snake Discovery channel on YouTube
  • what's your favorite song? "Our Song" by Taylor Swift (she started learning to play it on the violin)
  • what's your favorite game? Star Stables (iPad)
  • what's your favorite color/ aesthetic? pastel rainbow
  • what's your favorite movie/ tv show? goes to sleep to Bluey every night
  • who's your favorite cat? Sunny or Teddy ("but DON'T TELL THEM")
  • how many dogs would you have if your parents would let you? 5
  • what other random pets would you have? snakes, turtles, birds, lizards
  • what's your favorite subject at school? reading or science
  • what's your favorite vacation? going to Alys (New York is too busy)
  • what are your favorite hobbies? painting and horseback riding (she's been into painting rocks this week)
  • what's your favorite food? pizza (cheese eaten separately)
Star of the Week for her birthday week!

She made sure I remembered the streamers and balloons

Face stuff was a big request this year!

She knows the sign is coming but always acts like it's the biggest surprise

We took MemPops for her birthday lunch snack

She asked Spiffer and GD for fairy house supplies, and they had so much fun that afternoon setting them all up!

Family birthday dinner- she requested Olive Garden (I love that she's wearing her pj set- that's been a new thing- a new constant- since Christmas)

Doing her Cressey dance

She asked to have a sleepover that was reptile themed. I had to call in Glamp901, of course.

She made all of these paper link chains- took her forever!

Kitties approved

Finally told her our little secret right before her friends arrived- a reptile expert was bringing a ton of critters to the party so she and her friends could learn about them and hold them.

She and I made these favor baskets, and the girl loves using the Cricut.

Pretty pleased with herself and ready for her party! Then realized she should be in comfy clothes to hold reptiles so ran to put on a tshirt and shorts.

Even sis was impressed!

It's happening!!!!

Couldn't be happier!

Took the cake to the pool so we didn't have to interrupt the swim fun.

Sis tried and tried to light that dang candle with no luck

But the cake was tasty!

Time for skin care, duh

Beddy bye time- most were asleep by 10:15

And this is how Sunday looked...
