Toohig Tidbits: November- Earrings for Cressey!

 Lunch at school with Cressey

She got a book of poems from the library and had to read it immediately

What a beautiful fall morning scene

Where's Sunny?

We had some work done on our kitchen floors, and Bluesy had a hard time being denied from his pantry/ treats. He so wanted to hop up there and sneak around the corner.

HG teaching Cressey how to stand up on the hoverboard

Cress and I were bored at home one Sunday afternoon, so we took off to the zoo by ourselves. She talked me into trying the new ride-on animal scooter things.

"Mama, take a pic of me and send it to my grandparents!"

So happy that we can walk on the new floors!

And just a few minutes later at 9:06 on a Sunday morning, we heard a huge boom and the ground shook. It was a tree in our front yard!!!

Grizz has been on my bucket list, and I finally found him!

After an appointment, Cress and I had a quick lunch at McAlister's before heading back to school.

A little work trip to Miami with the firm's hardest working guys

Shopping in the Design District

Meanwhile, back home with the grandparents...

Year-end group dinner with my Annie!

HG had a one-hour Bridge Builder meeting downtown, so Cress and I killed time at Bass Pro.

Girls' night!

For this one too...

Big sis teaching little sis about earrings!

Cressey has started talking about getting her ears pieced in the near future, maybe her 7th birthday. Over the Thanksgiving holiday, I was trying to coordinate a play date with her friend Presley, and I read aloud a text from Patty that they were going with Kathryn B to get the girls' ears pierced on Monday. Well THAT was the end of that discussion- Cressey was bound and determind that she was going too!

She really wanted to go first. They wanted to get each girl up in the chair and figure out the earring placement, and then they would go back through the order and do the piercing. Well, that turned out to be a little traumatic to get up in the chair and then back out of the chair. Cressey did cry a little bit- she was really scared of it happening without her knowing- but she never changed her mind. Once she was able to calm down, they did it, and she screamed SO loud! Whew. She kept saying it was hot, so HG ran to the bathroom for a wet paper towel and got to dabbing her head and neck. She eventually came down from the nerves, and then she was so proud of herself and hasn't looked back. And she has new pretty pink sparkly accessories to show for it!

Just two sisters and a horse

Look what we found in our house!

Cressey drew us some Thanksgiving decorations. She can tell you 100 facts about turkeys.

She found this when we were unpacking Christmas, and it's now her constant companion. Rides to school with us and everything. She's now named her Clara.

Clean report from Dr. B and Clyde!

More 'Clara' at another Nutcracker practice- the one where she was assigned to jump on the back of a rat and ride on stage like a cowgirl. She was so excited that I wasn't sure her ego would fit in the car on the way home!
