CMT's First Soccer Practice

On March 23rd, Cressey had her first ever soccer practice! We've signed her up to play Munchin Madness at CBHS, a rec league that just meets for an hour on Saturday mornings for a month or so. It's pretty much just that- an hour of madness with a bunch of munchkins running around (no games). She was excited about it, but she never would try on her cleats (HG's old ones) for me, not to even mention the socks. But as usual, somehow her daddy was able to work his magic, and she put them right on for him that morning. She even happily agreed to pose for pics. I dunno.

When we got there, she was a little overwhelmed by all the people, and it was kinda hard to keep up with 'your people.' (HG came too, and luckily, we found Olivia E. there with her sister too. They both brought their softball gloves and threw around a ball the whole time.) Cressey took a minute to realize some of the girls there were her buddies- Presley from school and Norah from dance/ school, but she soon figured it out and would be encouraged to hang with them. She would vacillate between having fun/ following instructions and then getting a little frantic trying to find us/ want to take a break. We're still learning not to pick up the ball, but she did a decent job of making contact with the ball. And as expected, one of her favorite parts was organizing the equipment afterward.

We rewarded her/us with a CFA visit afterward, where she and HG were happy as clams with hashbrowns and playground time and John and I enjoyed grown up conversation while they played. WIN!
