Frozen On Ice
With Cressey’s newfound Frozen obsession, HG and I decided kind of at the last minute to get tickets for us to take her to see Frozen on Ice. No sooner had I bought the tickets did her soccer schedule come out, and sure enough, she had a soccer game at the exact same time. Bah humbug! She was a trooper about it though, and Spiffer stepped into her place.
I had bought Cressey an Elsa dress for her Halloween costume and thought it would be perfect for her to wear it to Frozen on Ice too; however, in true Cressey fashion, she wouldn’t have A THING to do with it. Wouldn’t even hear of trying it on. I threw it in the back of the car in case she changed her mind. As we waited in line to get into the parking garage, Spiffer and I made a big deal about all the little girls we saw passing us wearing their costumes. As we got out of the car and were about to walk in, I asked her one last time, and this time, I got a resounding, “YES!!!” Woohoo! It took some engineering to get her into it (should’ve had her step into it), but she was excited. When we rounded the corner and she saw the crowd at the entrance though, she got really shy/ overwhelmed.
We got through security, bought her a light up wand, and headed for our seats. The lights went out right as we scooted into our aisle, and she sat mesmerized for the entire show! She didn’t like the snow falling on her, but she had a blast with her wand and watching all the characters skate. We were so pleased at how well she paid attention and didn’t ask to get up and walk around during it, and we were impressed at how she managed the loud noises and scary ice monster and wolves parts well. A Frozen success!
And HG did well in her soccer game too! I only got one pic of her (see below), but she is loving playing again (defender like her daddy, of course).
Tired girl, trying to not smile at her daddy
Fair Fun
The Delta Fair rolled through town, so HG and I met some of her buddies there on a very hot and sunny Saturday morning. Sometimes HG can be very timid with rides, but there was nothing (within reason) she wouldn’t ride this time. Thanks to the unlimited ride wristband and a light crowd that morning, she and her friends would hop off and run right back to the entrance gate, over and over and over. She was sufficiently worn out after that fun morning and then an afternoon at the pool!
