Since Alys Beach is always a family favorite for fall break, we headed back there for spring break this March, and Grandma came along to experience 30A. The weather turned out to be cold, cloudy, and windy (with red and purple flags) most of the time we were there, but the sun came out the last day. Also, Cressey decided that she DID like the beach after all. Maybe the trick was keeping her socks and boots on? We will happily do that if it means she will enjoy some time in the sand with the rest of us!
Cress was ready to GO
The two flights to get to Florida were pretty bad. The pressure doesn’t seem to bother Cressey’s ears, but she’s mad she can’t get up out of her seat sometimes. And she won’t sleep either.
This lasted long enough for John to snap a pic.
She didn’t nap in the car either, so we were all pretty glad to get to the house.
The toy delivery arrives, and the girls are happy!!
We had to stick our toes in the water before dinner. Cressey had NO interest in getting down in the sand at this point.
Dinner at George’s couldn’t have been more perfect. There wasn't a crowd, and the girls ran around barefoot.
I was trying to snap a pic of the sunset and HG threw her hand up in my pic, and I thought it turned out to be pretty.
Sunday brought out a little sunshine, although it was still cold. I was in my sweatshirt and tights, but HG just had to get in her swimsuit.
The grown ups had a nice dinner at The Vue (HG decided to stay home with Cressey and our fab babysitter), and the clouds parted enough for us to watch a beautiful sunset.
On Monday, Cressey found the playground and had a ball.
Elise was staying nearby and came to play with HG for the day.
Cressey followed the big girls to the pool.
HG came to dinner with us Monday night, and we went to La Crema and had a drink at the Pearl’s rooftop bar while we waited for a table.
We come to 30A for this fondue.
This is the day that the Lord has made and the day that Cressey discovered she likes the beach (Tuesday, March 13, 2018).
“Shew!” She does this hand to the forehead move all the time.
What could be better than fries by the pool?
HG had gone to play at Elise’s all day, so Cress was happy to have her home. John walked over to get us a pizza from the pizza truck for dinner. Perfect end to a fabulous trip.
