On February 8, 2018, Cressey turned 22 months old.
She’s become attached to this Snow White costume that she literally stole from Darby and Mary Mason since she wouldn’t take it off at their house. She is also quite addicted to HG’s purple fairy wings.
She loves to tell you ‘bless you,’ ‘help,’ ‘down,’ ‘oops’ (sounds like up’s), ‘tank you,’ ‘done,’ etc. She talks ALL THE TIME; now whether we can understand it or not…
She tries to talk to Alexa.
She acts like she’s counting and especially loves 6,7, and 8. She’ll repeatedly use those numbers. She is pretty good at identifying red, blue, and yellow, as well as stars and hearts.
She saw Dr. B recently, and he surprised me by telling me she’s got 16 of her 20 baby teeth and has one molar coming in right now. She has so many teeth that I can’t get my hands in there anymore. We’ve started a teeth brushing routine at nap and bedtime, and she loves to stand up on her stool in her bathroom to brush her teeth/ play in the sink. (She got up on the table for Dr. B but wouldn’t open her mouth, so we had to switch to a knee-to-knee exam.)
Her bedtime routine changes often, but right now, she’s ok to brush her teeth, read a few books, change her diaper, and then get in the bed. She wants her blanket over her and tucked in tight (she tells John to ‘tucky’), and then she’ll let you leave the room- and then fuss like a crazy lady for a few minutes. If you have to go back in there to tell her to lay down, she covers her eyes with her hands as if to say, ‘if I can’t see you, you can’t see me.’
She hates her hands to be dirty, especially when she’s eating. She’s starting to be particular about food. Maybe because she can so clearly tell you what she wants and doesn’t?
When the back door of the house opens, she perks up, cranes her head to the door, and squeals, “Daddy!” If it is, in fact, Daddy, off she runs to hug him and then chase him to his closet while he changes clothes.
Loves to shake her booty. Especially after a showertime with her sissy. And loves to chase you around the kitchen island screaming, ‘I gotch-uuuuu!’
Does NOT like a bath. Will scream like a banshee. Prefers a shower with her sister, although she still screams when you wash her hair or body.
She really hates to sit in her car seat. If you stop the car, she immediately starts screaming, ‘STUCK!’ She wants to get out, crawl up front, and hit every single button.
She’s so sweet to the kitties. They will usually stay put and let her get close to them now.
She HATES a bow but loves to choose a headband and put it in herself.
On January 14th, John and I were awoken with a loud crash from upstairs at 5 a.m. Cressey had pulled off the wooden monogram hanging over her bed.
