On December/ January 8th, Cressey turned 20/ 21 months old.
She is either hot or cold; totally joyful and lovey or totally MAD that she’s not getting her way. Loves to throw a good fit. Speaking of fits, she still generally hates her car seat.
She has great manners. Says ‘peezzz’ and ‘tank ku.’ Working on ‘scuse me.’ She’ll say ‘p yew’ and pinch her nose. She says ‘kaaayyyy’ and ‘awwwww.’ She’s got all her grandparents’ names down pat. She’ll squeal, ‘I got choo,’ while she chases you around the island. She’ll say ‘yummmm’ and rub her tummy in circles. She’ll also do that when we read Hungry Caterpillar and he has a tummyache. When the big girls help HG out of the car at school in the morning, they say, ‘have a good day!,’ and Cressey says, ‘good day!’ She’ll tell you, ‘love you!’ Has strung together a pretty decent sentence- “Where did the kitty go?”- and held her little palms upward.
She likes to blow her nose.
She LOVES Bubble Guppies and regularly asks for “Bubbies.”
She knows all her main body parts- ears, nose, mouth, teeth, eyes, toes, fingers, etc.
She wants to be all up in HG’s business. If HG has a friend over, she follows right behind the big girls until she gets a door slammed in her face. A big cry ensues. Along those lines, she wants to be right in the middle of HG and her daddy rough housing. That almost always ends in one girl crying.
She’s mastered a fork and won’t throw her plate down anymore. Still eats more than her sister.
She now gives fabulous kisses on demand.
She’s back to sleeping well again. She had outgrown her sleep sack, so while I ordered a bigger one, I threw a blanket in her bed. Now that we’ve got the bigger sack, she still prefers the blanket, even wanting to bring it downstairs with her some mornings. She still won’t lay down in a bed. Thinks it’s play time.
With the blanket addiction has come snuggling with HG on the couch, both wrapped up in a fleece blanket. Seems that she might have a chance of being a snuggly kiddo. HG is happy to watch Bubble Guppies or Puppy Dog Pals if her sister will lay with her!
December brought her first invite to a friend’s birthday party- that had nothing to do with family or her sister’s friends! We celebrated Delaney’s birthday at Little Gym.
She bit Archer at Thanksgiving over a toy dispute. First time. Boo hoo!
When she hears ‘shower,’ she starts stripping and running for the bathroom. She now hates baths, so I rely on HG to bathe her in the shower for me which she loves to do 99% of the time.
She’s mastered starting and stopping music or videos on my phone.
She loves to brush her teeth and asks for toothpaste.
She loves to play in my car after we get home, and if I make her come straight inside instead of climbing into the front seat, she throws a good fit.
She wants to dip everything in cheese dip, ketchup, etc. She will lick the chip and hand it back to you for more sauce.
