On June 13th, SAA’s ECC hosted a petting zoo at school for the little ones. Cress is NOT a fan of shoes, but now that she was really walking and not wanting to be held, I knew I needed to get shoes on her since she’d be surrounded by farm animals. We dropped HG off at SAA robotics camp, drove through Chick-fil-A, and then went to park across from the ECC. I put her in the back of the car, plied her with chicken minis, and quickly shoved the shoes on her feet. She was successfully distracted and didn’t resist, and then I immediately swooped her up and we were on our way.
She started ‘ooooooooooh’-ing as soon as she saw the first goat and never stopped. She practically threw herself out of my arms and toddled from animal to animal, not scared a bit, of course. She really loved the little cow and the pig, maybe because they weren’t assertive/ hungry. Afterward, we ran into the ECC lobby to cool off and visit with the Jesus statue. I also loved seeing some of HG’s old ECC teachers, some of who were surprised and thrilled to see our ‘new’ addition and others who keep up with her on social media and treated her like a celebrity. We sure love our school!
