April 11th: First time for HG to leave Cressey behind for school. She needed one last snuggle! (Grandma has been taking her to school in the mornings, and GD or Spiffer pick her up. Big shout out to all of them for helping her make a 97 on spelling and 100 on reading that first week after Cressey was born. Mama had no mental capacity to help with schoolwork!)
April 12th: First ‘spit’ bath with HG in charge, of course. Poor, nervous Daddy.
She was not a big fan of the bath but chilled out for HG to style her hair once she was bundled in her sissy’s princess towel.
Is it bedtime yet?
All cozy and happy now!
April 13th: First doctor’s appointment with Dr. Vargo & first restaurant outing
We ran into Emmy and Ryan at the doctor who were there for Ryan’s 4 month check up!
And because we were going a little stir crazy and were enjoying the fresh air, after our appointment, we snuck off to IHOP for breakfast with our five-day-old baby…
April 13th: First walk around the lake with Daddy and HG
April 14th: First time for Cressey to be up in her room (I sat in her rocker and cuddled her while Brandy helped me sort some of HG’s old clothes). This was a test to see if I could make it upstairs so that I could surprise HG by being able to go up to her bed for bedtime. On the night of the 13th, HG had a little bit of a meltdown at bedtime, saying to Cressey (who was laying in my lap) that my lap was hers first. And then a few minutes later, she accused me of holding Cressey too much, and she wanted more cuddle time with me before bed. This was really the first ever backlash against the baby, so I was determined to get up those stairs to get our bedtime routine/cuddle time back to normal.
April 14th: First time for Cressey to be in HG’s bed for bedtime stories. I made it upstairs, and HG was so happy! She wanted Cressey to come too, so John parked it in her chaise for back up, which was good because she asked him to hold the baby about halfway through Clementine.
