Friday night went smoothly in the hospital, as the nurses kept the pain meds coming. The nurses were so great and involved that I never changed a diaper while we were at Baptist. They took great care of us, brought us Cressey overnight when she was hungry, and let us get as much sleep as possible. (For the record, I breastfed for the first four days and now have moved to formula for the sake for *all* of our sanity, although Cressey did great with it.)
Saturday brought more visitors: Brandy, GD and Spiffer and Grandma, the Browns and the Egners, and then the Hasseltines and Eskrigges. Lots of fun family time!
Over the last few months, Helen Grace was pretty insistent on staying at the hospital overnight with us, but when the time arrived, we lucked out and she was happy to go home with grandparents to either play with Addie or go to dinner with cousins. I was really worried that we’d have a show down over it, and while she did mention the idea once on Friday, she was easily diverted and was happy to head home for other fun plans. Whew!
I texted this picture to our parents on Saturday morning saying, “I was a good girl last night.”
And I got this pic text back from Grandma saying, “I was a good girl last night too!”
I got out of the bed by Saturday morning, albeit SLOWLY. HG took me on a walk down to see all the babies in the nursery (just outside our door) and down another hall that she had earlier explored. She felt like an expert on the fourth floor!
Love this gaggle of girl cousins! (Poor Worth is waaaayyyy outnumbered)
First pic as a family of four
