Our EK is getting MARRIED to her sweetheart, Mark, at the end of February, and we were so excited to celebrate with a lingerie shower the last weekend of January at Reba’s house.
Rebecca, Whitney, Julie, Melissa, and I hosted the party, and we decided to just go all out and dedicate an entire weekend to celebrating with Em. It’s not every day that we can all get together, so we made plans for daddies and grandparents to keep the kids so that we could spend both Friday and Saturday nights with each other.
Friday night, we went to dinner at Georgia Blue and caught up over chips and cheese dip and then came back to Reba’s to get comfy (and stayed up too late talking). The next morning, we got up early to get ready for the shower.
At the party, I think we were able to maintain a good balance of both ‘fun’ and tameness for Em’s sake, and we enjoyed getting to visit with friends from Em’s childhood, sorority sisters, and optometry school friends. The visiting lingered all afternoon until we realized it was nearly time for our dinner reservations. We quickly freshened up and made our way to Local 463 for a tasty dinner.
Afterward, we came back home to get in our pajamas and watch a movie with a fruity, slushy punch, chocolate-dipped chex mix, Whimsy cookies, pink beaded necklaces, and light up rings.
We are over-the-moon happy that Em has found her soulmate that will take care of her and laugh with her forever, and we loved getting some quality time together with her before the wedding craziness begins. I went to bed a happy girl on Friday night as I relished in being with people who love me just the way I am and will still me love me no matter what silly things I say. Unconditional love like that is very hard to find, but I’m thankful to have it in this group of the truest of friends.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, this is what John and HG were up to on Friday night…
