We spent this morning celebrating our friend Graham’s second birthday at the sprinkler park- the first time we’ve been this summer. Helen Grace was excited about a ‘party’ on the way to the park, but once we got there, I couldn’t get her bathing suit on her to save my life. After her friends starting showing up and heading to the water, she finally gave in and let me get her dressed. She was a little timid of the water at first, but she soon warmed up and let loose, running through the water and shrieking like crazy! She and Callum went wild as usual, and she drug sweet Caroline around playing Ring Around the Rosie. (Unfortunately, poor Caroline was not really a willing participant…check out the video below.) We had a great morning playing in the water and then snacking and enjoying fellowship on a quilt in the shade with our friends. It was wonderful to catch up with many mommies and babies that I hadn’t seen in a while, and it’s very refreshing to see that nothing has changed. :) After spending the last year (and first year of the babies being mobile) chasing our kiddos at gatherings and not being able to have much grown up conversation, today we commented on how nice it was that we all sat together with the kids playing and entertaining themselves while the moms got to TALK!
