Helen Grace decided that she'd like to try playing softball for school this spring. She's truly been hopping between making it to all the softball, riding, and dance practices, not to mention homework- a lot has been asked of her- but she's really enjoyed learning the ins and outs of this new sport. Her coaches say she's a good listener, that she's done a good job of taking constructive criticism and applying it to be better. She has a strong arm and is a good thrower. She has good form and has strong power behind her. She seems to really like the camaraderie and being part of a team. She's loved figuring out how to oil her mitt, coax her glove into her hand's shape, etc. She has taken to watching baseball games on tv and telling her mama all the rules and what the players are doing wrong.
Her first game was on April 29th, and they won! All Cressey could tell you about the night was that Poppy was there, she got to walk Oreo, she jumped on a bouncy, and she got some ice cream after sissy finished whatever it was she was doing...
Trying to be one of the 'big girls' (little sister crew)
Easter brought a beautiful spring day with lots of family time and egg hunts.
We started with mass with Grandma, then lunch and a hunt at Spiffer and Granddaddy's, and finally rounded out the day with a hunt at Bubba's with the Moore cousins. We've eaten our fair share of chocolate these last few weeks at the Toohig house!
Going to find her loot from the EB
She found out that she and her BFF are going to see JoJo Siwa in concert in September.
Personalized pencils were a hit
HG went to get Cressey when she woke up, but Cress was so very upset that the Easter Bunny didn't stay to see her. She thought when she said the Easter Bunny had come that he'd be there to visit. Such disappointment!
But then she found her goodies and rallied
The most unexpected surprise happened at mass. HG was desperate for Cressey to sit in her lap and begged and begged her (as she crawled all over the rest of us). All of a sudden, she just crawled up in HG's lap for a snuggle, and HG was ecstatic.
Spiffer had the most beautiful Easter table, but Cressey stopped and sat when she found the mac and cheese and chicken nuggets. She sat right here and ate at the island while the rest of us enjoyed the banquet table!
She couldn't make it one more minute, although we were about a mile from Bubba's house...
After a 30 minute nap, we were able to talk her into waking up and hunting some eggs.
Gotta work on her counting...
She loves playing with this coffee set at Bubba's.
