Toohig Tibdits

While playing school with Spiffer, she said, “Make sure to turn your collar down so that you can be a proper little girl.” {obviously a Catholic school girl}

“BLUE TOOHIG!!!!!” is screamed daily in our house.

“So is a ‘mothership’ a boat full of mamas??”

While I’m asking her to brush her teeth or get dressed for school and she’d rather be watching tv or playing, she tells me, “I’ve been praying for you to be nicer.”

In our last trimester conference, Mrs. Mungle said she can see her character growing by not giving up when learning. If she doesn’t get something the first time, she keeps trying and doesn’t give up.

She told me the other day- “I love you, but I’m trying to teach you a lesson.”

She’s been ending up in our bed in the middle of the night lately, so one morning, she was still snoozing while I was getting ready. As I walked by the bed, she started giving me kisses in her sleep.

HG asked me recently if I had an iPhone 6 or 6+. This came after we talked about how you had to be on wifi to download videos from the cloud so that you could watch them on your phone when not on wifi. And after I showed her once, she did the whole process on her own and then explained it to me. Ridiculous.

“Mama, you’ve always told me that I can do anything I believe I can do. But I believe I need a puppy, and you won’t give me one.”

Last weekend, HG rode from dinner to the Browns’ with CB and Emmy, which HG and Addie just thought was fabulous. They heard HG say to Addie, “You have to come over to see my new heels!” (her Cinderella ones)

Happy birthday, Lilly!

Last Saturday, we had a great time celebrating Lillian’s birthday. We had dinner at Fox & Hound, played pool (loved watching CB and John show their girls the ropes), and then headed to CB and Emmy’s to enjoy some cake and ice cream- and some festive St. Patrick’s Day/Easter attire! Here’s to another wonderful year with Lilly!

Spring Break: Play Date

HG, Ellis, Bella Marie, and Aubrey have been planning a play date for MONTHS at school. Every other day, I’d hear news of a new activity that they planned on adding to their party. I finally reached out to their mamas, and we all laughed at how well they’d worked out the details without us. Ellis wasn’t able to make it, but on the Saturday of Spring Break, we met the others for lunch at Chick-fil-A and then they came home with us for the afternoon. Aubrey, Bella Marie, and HG played, played, chased Blue, and played some more. They had a great time without a single spat, and I even got some things done around the house. Win-win!

Spring Break: Stay-cation

On the Thursday of Spring Break, HG and I met up with the Mattice girls for a fun afternoon in Memphis. We had lunch at Belly Acres, which was awesome for kiddos and delicious burgers for grown ups too (a tractor to climb on, a fun farm-themed bathroom, lunch served in a frisbee, etc.)! Then, we let them run wild at the Overton Park playground, paint pottery at Seize the Clay, and indulge in some sweet treats at Whimsy Cookie. A GREAT day!

Spring Break: Discovery Park of America

On the Wednesday of Spring Break, HG and I decided to take a little road trip to the Discovery Park of America in Union City, TN, and we invited Rachel and Courtlyn along for the ride. Our neighbors and SAA classmates, the Wittmanns, also came along, so it was a fun girls’ day. I’ve heard a lot of people talking about this museum, so Rachel was a good sport to come along with us and check out all the hype.

It did not disappoint and was worth the almost three hour drive! We only had enough time to cover the inside of the museum, so we’ll have to go back to play around all of the outside exhibits (grist mill, settlement, trains, etc.). The inside offers dinosaur skeletons, military cars and helicopters, aquariums, water play toys, a two-story slide, a talking robot, an earthquake simulator (which totally freaked out HG), a space journey experience- just to name a few. They also have traveling exhibits, like the Titanic one right now.

It was a super long day of driving, but we had so much fun. The girls just ran from thing to thing all day, and it was great to explore together. The museum was very new and well kept, and they had lots of hands on things to play and learn with, especially for HG and Courtlyn’s ages. We definitely will go back!
