On the Wednesday of Spring Break, HG and I decided to take a little road trip to the Discovery Park of America in Union City, TN, and we invited Rachel and Courtlyn along for the ride. Our neighbors and SAA classmates, the Wittmanns, also came along, so it was a fun girls’ day. I’ve heard a lot of people talking about this museum, so Rachel was a good sport to come along with us and check out all the hype.
It did not disappoint and was worth the almost three hour drive! We only had enough time to cover the inside of the museum, so we’ll have to go back to play around all of the outside exhibits (grist mill, settlement, trains, etc.). The inside offers dinosaur skeletons, military cars and helicopters, aquariums, water play toys, a two-story slide, a talking robot, an earthquake simulator (which totally freaked out HG), a space journey experience- just to name a few. They also have traveling exhibits, like the Titanic one right now.
It was a super long day of driving, but we had so much fun. The girls just ran from thing to thing all day, and it was great to explore together. The museum was very new and well kept, and they had lots of hands on things to play and learn with, especially for HG and Courtlyn’s ages. We definitely will go back!
