Asheville Birthday Getaway

John was asked to speak at a conference in Asheville, North Carolina, during the week of my birthday, so he invited me to join him for the weekend. This fall has been so busy that we often don't get much time alone when we can actually finish a full thought, so we so enjoyed being together and having an entire conversation! We ate a lot of great food, took naps, checked out downtown Asheville and the Biltmore, and watched football. (We were especially thankful for time spent in this beautiful part of the country as Hurricane Helene severely damaged so much of the surrounding area a few weeks later.)

We ate at Tupelo Honey in downtown Asheville

That's a cat riding on this man's shoulders...

I had looked forward to this- enjoying a drink in front of the fireplace in a rocking chair.

Meanwhile, at home, HG had (another) very rainy football game that was 'color bomb' theme. Our babysitter Sydney and her husband Tanner came along to watch- what good sports they were! It looked cold and wet to me, but HG said it was probably her most favorite game yet of the season.

Biltmore!

Cressey was having a blast at a sleepover for Juliette's birthday.

A beautiful sunset on our last night while we watched our Rebs beat Wake Forest!
