Cressey: SEVEN & Easter

 Cressey at SEVEN...

  • Super tall, one of the tallest in her class
  • Very much a rule follower; teachers always compliment her on how well she listens
  • Disciplined- will practice piano if the teacher tells her so
  • Scared to ride a bike without training wheels but will climb a bridge and fall off a horse and get back on (first time happened on her birthday)
  • Loves to pretend, huge imagination
  • Learning to be a great traveler and navigator
  • Doesn't forget a thing and listens to everything
  • Knows where everything is, even other people's stuff
  • Loves to fix things- even has her own tool belt
  • Talks incessantly
  • Refuses to be alone, i.e. Velcro Baby
  • Very sensitive, very kind-hearted and loyal, a kind friend
  • Loves animals
  • Doing great at horseback riding
  • Schoolwork comes easily
  • Very silly and bubbly
  • Addicted to her iPad, has to have Bluey on to go to sleep
  • Has decided to sleep downstairs since upstairs construction last June (back to Velcro Baby)
  • Works hard to be brave
  • Will eat the heck out of blueberries, strawberries, bagel bites, and mini corn dogs. Has quit milk  and now only water and apple juice.
  • Loves riding horses, trying piano this semester for the first time, playing softball again, LOVES art club at school, enjoys gymnastics at school too, LOVES ballet at "the studio" (rather than at school), HATED basketball because it was too loud and stressful
  • Loveys include Bunny Monkey and now Floofy (an identical rabbit to Bunny Monkey but brown that she rediscovered in her closet) and usually a flower blanket that she got for Christmas that she likes to lay underneath her and then sleep on top of (I have no clue)
  • Her Saint Award chosen by her teacher at the end of first grade was Saint Vitus- bringing happiness with your joyful sense of humor
  • Has recently decided she does not like dresses, and she would prefer to be in a tshirt and shorts. I can sometimes get her in a skort and top, but even that is a struggle.

  • What do you want to be when you grow up?  horseback riding teacher or a professional jumper so I can still ride horses
  • Favorite color?  pink and aqua
  • Favorite food?  strawberries
  • Favorite princess?  Mulan (I don't believe she's ever seen this movie, but since she said she was over princesses, I think she had to dig deep; she does like a good warrior though)
  • Favorite toy?  Bunny Monkey and Floofy
  • Favorite city?  Oxford
  • Favorite animal?  kitty cats, especially kittens
  • Favorite movie?  Newsies (they did the play at school)
  • Favorite tv show?  Bluey

Since her birthday fell over the Easter weekend, she and Ava H. chose to celebrate together at school on the Friday before. We brought Chick-fil-A minis for snack, and Ava brought cupcakes for lunch.

Ava found the birthday girl after lunch!

She went to bed the night before her birthday in Oxford

Surprise!!

A bush baby

And Barbie with kitties

Grandparents came to see her ride

Her first fall/ slide. She didn't argue about getting back on.

And then we went to Ava H's birthday party

She is obsessed with her new mermaid tail

Where's Blue?

Daddy giving the mermaid a lift

Maddie came over and we dyed some Easter eggs

And an egg hunt

The Easter Bunny has come!

I thought we were so early to mass, I was so proud of myself. We leisurely took pics, but when we went inside, we realized we weren't early- we were LATE! We stepped into the back and stood up for the service.

I gave up trying with the shoes; I was just pleased I got Cressey in a dress.

We had Easter brunch at AC's on the square which used to be Timbeaux's where we had our rehearsal dinner almost 17 years ago

After brunch and Grandma's mass, we went to her house to celebrate Cressey's birthday, mermaid style

An egg hunt at the Browns was super fun

A very crowded bed

And then the next Sunday (16th), we celebrated Daddy with a brunch at Owen Brennan's

And then headed to the Adams' where we got ready for a pool party for Kate and Cressey

After everyone left, I let her try out her new tail. It was harder than she thought, but she did a good job with it!

Aaaaand she's done!
