Halloween 2021

For Halloween this year, Helen Grace and her friends each chose and dressed up as a decade. HG wanted to go for a 50's girl (but not a poodle skirt), and I think she nailed it. Her grandmothers were all a tither about the glasses, shoes, and pearls! On Halloween night, she was celebrating Maddie's birthday and trick or treated with all her buddies at her house.

Cressey initially wanted to be a vampire or a bat, but then I reminded her she'd already been Vampirina last year. We steered her toward something that she loves- a cat, a horse, etc. When I found a blow up horse costume on Amazon, she was on board and never looked back! She wore that costume for days, and wouldn't you know it...when she put it on the night of Halloween, it wouldn't work?! The wire had to be held just so in order for the fan to work, so after a few failed attempts and a lot of tears, John was able to tape it up so that it would inflate and keep going. Whew. She trudged around the neighborhood and began stripping parts of her costume off as she got hot. When we got to our house, she ran up to the porch to pass out candy and then passed out. She came inside for a cup of water and then got FOMO as she watched her friends run on down the street, so she rallied and finished off the main drag!
