We woke up on Easter morning to HG’s excited proclamation of the Easter Bunny’s arrival. Of course, she had already scoped it out by the time she came to wake us up, but she acted appropriately surprised/happy when she showed us. We enjoyed Grandma and Peggy’s baskets as well and then jumped in the shower to get ready for mass.
After church with Peggy and Grandma, we met the Browns + Lil at the Filling Station for brunch. It was so nice to have a low key meal and not have to clean up anything. We also had the perfect time with a wide open space behind it so that HG and Addie could spin to their hearts’ content without bumping into anyone. Everyone was happy! We finished the day with a little nap, and all was right with the world.
For the record, I have to mention that HG really ‘got’ Easter this year. She told me most of the main parts of the Easter story, seemed to grasp why Jesus died on the cross and how much he suffered, and as we approached church on Easter morning, she said, “This is the last day of Lent!” Catholic school is really doing her some good!
