2012: A Year In Review

January

A fever began for all things Disney and princess, thanks to Haney and Lilly’s princess birthday parties.We took a road trip to Opryland in Nashville.

February

I piggy backed on John’s work trip to Seattle for a little grown up R&R time.

March

Helen Grace experienced her second circus and performed herself throughout most of it. She let me give her the first manicure…and then immediately wanted me to take it off. For the first time, she saw the Peabody ducks take their walk to from the elevator to the lobby fountain, and we also introduced her to the Mississippi River.

Double Decker 2012 Fresh Beat Band concert with Mama and Spiffer Easter 2012

May

HG’s first beach trip, Orange Beach, AL…smashing success! She turned THREE on May 25th, 2012. We celebrated at the park with our MOT friends. And we also celebrated at the zoo with our family and friends.

June

HG and Ann Maxwell started their first dance class at Little Gym. She saw half of her first movie in the theatre, “Brave.” We enjoyed a hen and chick zoo day with the Thomas and Harris girls. And Haney and Leighton got HG on a camel for the first time! Spiffer, HG, and Mama went to see HG’s first theatre performance, Sleeping Beauty. She was enthralled throughout the whole thing.

First day of pre-school at MaplesI again went with John on a work trip to Park City, Utah.

September 

First Disney Princesses on Ice- BIG hitFirst ambulance ride and hospital stay (asthma) on Mommy’s birthday We thanked the firemen with a cookie cake and got to ride in the truck. First Ferris wheel ride at the fair

October

US Olympic Gymnastic Team tour with the Anglins Helen Grace was Tinker Bell for Halloween. And I just couldn’t pass this one up.

November

Helen Grace and I took a road trip to see William in NOLA. I want to scream this one from the rooftop- HG IS POTTY TRAINED!!!!!! BIG GIRL PANTIES!!!!! (except pull-ups at night, although she wakes up dry) Helen Grace starred as a tumbleweed in her first Nutcracker. Thanksgiving 2012

First real ice skating experience for Hastings’ birthday Hayes, Hastings, HG, and Mama went to see Annie at Playhouse on the Square.HG and Bubba baked Christmas sugar cookies.Her first school Christmas party at MaplesMaples’ Christmas program We took a road trip to Opryland to see ICE! and the ‘Rockets.’ Candlelight Christmas Eve service at Bubba’s church “Santa did hear me!!” And we got SNOW the day after Christmas!Baby Addison came into the world on December 27th, and HG couldn’t be more thrilled.

With all of these blessings, how could 2013 top 2012?!
