On Friday, Helen Grace and I met our friends, Emily and Ann Maxwell Coats, at the zoo. The day wasn’t terribly hot and the zoo wasn’t terribly crowded, so we really enjoyed our trip. Between the two of us trying to shovel food into them at the Cat House Cafe and the girls putting up a good fight, we might have run the rest of the customers out, but hey, what are ya gonna do? We just shrugged our shoulders and laughed through it. Helen Grace is so busy now that she didn’t like to get back into her stroller after getting out to look at animals, so we were relieved to get to the green space over by Teton Trek and let the girls LOOSE. The Old Faithful geyser caught their attention pretty quickly, and soon HG followed AM as she blazed the way over to the water. There were some big boys playing in the fountain, but that didn’t stop our girls from walking right into the water. We stripped off their shoes and let them go. (Next time we will pack swim suits and towels!) While the three little fountains were going off, we were fine, only getting a little wet from the spray. Then the fountains died down, the water drained out, and as the girls tiptoed further into it, we knew we were in trouble. Sure enough, seconds later, the BIG fountain came on, and we were all drenched. Even the strollers that were pushed over the side. While we hadn’t planned on being soaked, we couldn’t really complain since it made the heat much more tolerable!
Ann Maxwell and Helen Grace Holding hands…awww! Emily and AM SO GLAD to be outta that stupid stroller! WATER!!!!! She is not scared of water at all. This looks like trouble… Squeals of delight
