Jokester

This past weekend (and some of the work week), I fell victim to the awful stomach bug that has going around, so HG spent most of her time at grandparents’ house. (Luckily/miraculously, she and John both avoided the germs.) While at Spiffer’s, she read a Pinkalicious book about two girls having a ‘joke off,’ and she came home abounding with self made jokes. She was cracking herself up! (Please forgive my pajamas and bedhead.)

Little Mommy

Helen Grace has been obsessed with her baby doll lately, which is named Sallie Key (coincidentally, the same name as my friend and coworker’s daughter). She takes her everywhere we go and makes us pretend to be big sister, little sister, or mommy. She even went to school with her today. I personally wish Sallie Key’s headband would conveniently disappear since it drives HG crazy when it comes off...which happens at least every hour. ;)

To give you a taste of our little Chatty Cathy these days, I hit ‘record’ on my voice recorder at one of John’s games as Helen Grace talked about her baby doll. Sometimes I have to shake my head when I listen to her talk. Her imagination and vocabulary blow me away.

 

We’re Baaaaaack!

When the weather is nice, you know where to find the Toohigs. We have been back at the zoo several times lately as the winter weather has given us a break and teased us with a preview of spring.

Daddy and HG entertained themselves at the zoo one Sunday morning while Grandma and I were at RCIA class.

One pretty afternoon we went with Peggy and Grandma. Princess Helen Grace was in full effect. I love those surprise hugs/tackles. Racing Mama Mississippi princess wave Meet the new baby giraffe, Maliki! They were trying to corral her back into the building with branches. But Maliki was a bit too quick and nimble for them! Freeeee! A huge crowd had gathered to watch the shenanigans, and we all laughed at their futile attempts. Took them about 20 minutes to finally catch her!  

And while I was in Oxford for Initiation, Spiffer, Granddaddy, and John entertained HG with a zoo trip. HG was a little tired from a slumber party the night before with Grandma and Peggy. There’s a new baby sea lion too- meet Teva. Finally gave in.

Proud to be a Rebel

Today was national signing day for high school football players, and Ole Miss has had a historic turn out- we have the #5 recruiting class in the country! We are really getting excited about football season for a change!

Callum, Emsley, HG, Caroline, Camille- Hard to believe these kiddos have been friends for almost four years!

Almost Wordless Wednesday

Caught by Daddy At Target with Grandma, HG found a ‘Best Friends’ necklace and bought it for her BFF, Ann Maxwell. HG and I met Amy and Emsley for an impromptu girls lunch the other day.
