Toohig Tidbits: Early May

“Look, Mama, I’ve got puppy eyes…” {insert pitiful look with lip out}

I asked her what the best thing about her was, and she said, “That I’m brave and how much my mama loves me.”

She got her first splinter recently at a park in Hernando while we were playing with the Mattice girls. It was a large splinter but would have been easy to remove, although she absolutely lost her mind and freaked out. That experience might rival tooth pulling. Of course, it was her daddy that finally took care of it!

The ducks have come back north and are looking for food 24/7.Vaco girls’ night out at AlchemyWhile Mama was out on the town, HG was at Three Guys pizza with her grandparents, and she FINALLY won one of those toys out of the claw games- and all by herself. She was ecstatic!Celebrating nine years since the establishment of our little family with a selfie by the best addition yet (over sushi)HG made this little mouse, and it’s just the cutest thing- she even completed his back.Excited for field day!This cat ONLY does this for her.Weekend morning fun with AddieDate night for Grizzlies’ playoff game against the Golden Coast (we won!)SK girls visit the first grade classroomHG’s artwork is on display in the ECC foyer for Mrs. Mungle’s classDance recital practiceShe brought home her Kindergarten artwork binder, so she was telling Daddy all about each page.And another daddy-daughter moment before bedtime…Before ‘Jesus statue’ picture day at schoolHG has been dying to make her family tree, so she took it upon herself at school to create this masterpiece.At the park with Spiffer and Granddaddy. She’s gotten this high just by pumping on her own. Big girl!

May 2nd: Soccer and Zoo

This spring, our Saturdays have a pretty regular formula to them. We start the morning off bright and early with a soccer game, and then we wind down and enjoy the day with a romp around the zoo. May 2nd was a pretty wonderfully typical day.

We checked out the new Take Flight bird show, and this little one squealed the whole time, told me all about each bird, and enjoyed every last drop of her Dippin Dots.

Toohig Tidbits: Late April

Loves our office mascot, HankEww, she got a slobbery kiss!I took her to get some pics made out at Shelby Farms. As bribery for good behavior and cooperation, her reward was time on the playground.”I’m too small for this.”Blue was desperate to get outside with us on the back patio.My girl is really getting brave and will order/pay for things on her own, even asking to do sometimes.Baby girl requested a girls’ night out for dinner, and her place of choice was Newk’s. We had a sheet of homework to get through, but it was much more fun to play with real coins and do it at Newk’s.Slumber party at our house with Sallie KeySno cone with CourtlynThis crazy cat gets crazier at bedtime.A PERFECT SPELLING TEST!!!!HG made a shopping list for us for our cupcake project.After school last Monday, HG mentioned that she had something in her ear, that she couldn’t hear too well, and they felt wet. After a detour to the doctor’s office, it was confirmed that HG had double ear infections. That night, she spent most of her time tossing and turning in our bed and hacking. She woke up tired and with a sore throat, so she and I stayed home from school/work. After a lazy day and a long afternoon nap, she was back in business.Mary-Kate fell off a horse and broke her arm and wrist. The rest of the soccer team sent this message to her (see the board behind them) before they headed to practice on Friday.
