Even though we told her we weren't going to let her turn six, it seems that she has indeed turned a year older and keeps growing up on us.
- Listens to every word of every song lyric and needs to know what they mean- usually about breaking up with someone, being heartbroken, etc.- and asks definitions of words constantly
- Hated basketball because of how loud and stressful it was
- LOVES riding horses and cries when we have to miss a weekly lesson
- Has been getting braver on trying new things and gathering her courage
- Has decided she only likes blue jumpers for school and refuses the pink
- Still super sensitive- you never have to discipline more than once because she's terrified of disappointing you
- Addicted to her iPad
- Loves to fall asleep on the couch and let daddy carry her to bed
- Enjoys dance (has asked to do the optional spring recital) and gymnastics classes at school (really wants to learn how to do a cartwheel)
- Anytime her sister will pay attention to her, she eats it up
- Don't hear much from her about princesses anymore, but she firmly believes in fairies and mermaids
- Has lost three teeth since her last birthday for five teeth overall. Several are wiggly.
- As much as she loves a babysitter, she will still be really sad when we leave.
- She's had a sleepover at a friend's house (Kate) this spring.
- Will tell you she has a boyfriend (one of HG's friend's brothers), but he doesn't have a clue. I think our little sponge just soaks up all the big girl talk she hears.
- Her koi fish artwork won her grade's art show award for the year and will be displayed at school!
- Still loves all the bugs and all the animals
- She's veering away from pink for the sake of blue
Cressey requested a 'neon unicorn' party theme, so HG and I made her strawberry cupcakes with blue icing to share with her class on her real birthday
And HG found a trick for her bedroom door that she wanted to play on her
Very proud of herself
I thought Cress was going to hate it, but once I got her to actually come out of her room (usually I go into her room to wake her up), she really did love it.
She wanted a really really high pony
So proud of her cupcakes!
Reading with her big sis
Ava shares the same birthday as Cressey!
Part of Ms. Jamie's birthday tradition is a book report. Cressey chose Pete the Cat: Big Easter Adventure and loved reading it to her class. We have not practiced or focused on reading a ton, and this girl has just TAKEN OFF at reading. She's doing so well!
Party prep for her April group birthday party- a cheerleading themed party! I had blown up these balloons while they were at school, and they were so excited to play in them!
We were so packed in the car that John had to take his own vehicle!
Three cheers for the three birthday girls!
Some of the CBHS cheerleaders came to teach our girls some cheers. It was the cutest thing ever!
The survivors of the party (barely), minus HG who had to be catapulted out of the pic because she wasn't cooperating/ being a diva (see previous pic)
