Cressey's JK Graduation

Helen Grace's class had a big graduation ceremony from Senior Kindergarten, but in the years since then, the school has added a 2K program and the SK classroom has moved over to the lower school hallway (and the boys to St. Dominic). So while the SK girls don't wear saddle oxfords in kindergarten, they now celebrate their graduation from the ECC at the end of JK. 2020 would have been the first year of this big switch and the virus killed that class' party, so this was the school's first official JK graduation ceremony. The teachers and administration did SUCH a great job teaching the kids songs and prayers and sign language, and the ceremony was so meaningful and special for parents and kids alike.

Cressey wore HG's SK graduation dress for her JK graduation. When we were trying it on, I found a St. Agnes medallion that Katie Fik had give HG's class, and it gave Cressey strength when her nerves kicked in on graduation morning.

Last time dropping her off at the ECC door (naturally, I wouldn't let her ride to school in that dress, so I kept her in pjs, dressed her in the school parking lot, and walked her down to her door)

We knew she had a speaking part with a group but didn't know they had props and that she had to hold one!

At one point in the ceremony, the children were given a flower and asked to take it to their parents and sit with them to watch a slideshow. Cress was so proud to bring it to us and happy/ relieved about her performance. HG was BESIDE herself proud of her sister and wanted to cuddle her asap.

Ms. Amy and Ms. Renee are angels straight from heaven!

Afterward, they gave them huge bags full of presents and binders of all their work from the past year. I loved sitting down after all the chaos and reading through her journals.
