Almost a month into the year, school is only getting better with time.
Last Wednesday, Mrs. Blaizel said she had a great day. She laughed 2/3 of the day and laughed her way through lunch with the girls sitting around her. Her shyness is quickly disappearing. When I asked Mrs.Blaizel if she were listening to her teachers, she smiled and said, "Most of the time. But no complaints."
Today, I had a chance to talk to Mrs. Gossett. I told her how excited HG was about being the ‘caboose’ this week. She explained that some kids really don’t like that job and she pumps them up by explaining that you get to make sure everyone’s out of the room and staying in line. I laughed and said that was perfect for little miss Bossy Bess. She was surprised because she said HG was never bossy at school. (What?!) Mrs. Gossett also said that while HG is the youngest in the class, you can't tell it. She attributes that to being an only child and being around grown ups a lot, and she thinks she is mature for her age. (BIG RELIEF) She is on par with the rest of her class, and her handwriting is making progress. She plays well and evenly with both girls and boys. I was so happy to get such an in depth view into her school life!
They learned the meaning of their names, and she’s stuck on ‘Grace’ meaning ‘delicate like a ballerina.’Our kitchen is now her classroom, and our oven is her board. Here she is putting her students down for a nap.Muddy’s is entirely too close to school. Posing on “Memphis Tiger Blue” casual day
