Picasso, Eat Your Heart Out

Helen Grace was given a gift certificate to a paint-your-own-pottery place for her birthday, and I decided to give it a try this week. She’s very coordinated with crayons and markers, so I thought paint wouldn’t be too much of a disaster. And she actually did really well! I just gave her two choices of paint, and she went wild painting some Christmas ornaments. She tried to taste the paint a time or two (luckily it was non-toxic), but other than that, she really kept most of the mess contained to her artwork. Maybe that was because her OCD mama was wiping down her hands every few minutes- ha! No, really, I did let her go at it and have fun, and I loved watching her experience a whole new adventure.

We met Bubba, Granddaddy, and Spif for dinner at Seafood Junction on Thursday night. I think HG probably spent a total of five minutes in her seat- she was too busy running circles around our table and carrying Bubba and Spif’s purses.CIMG6684Spif left her seat (and dinner) for just a minute to run to the bathroom, and look what she found in her place when she got back!CIMG6685

After Kindermusik today, we visited with Camille and Lilly and their mommies. Since I’ve had to miss MOTs the last two weeks because of appointments and work, I haven’t seen my mama friends lately!

Helen Grace’s newest trick…when you ask her how old she is, she holds up one finger. Love it! Also, she covers her mouth when she coughs (it makes her look way too grown up) and will sometimes pretend to snore (Granddaddy said it’s in response to his question of, ‘What does Daddy say when he’s sleeping?’).
