We woke up on Friday, December 11th, to news that Emmy thought her water had broken and that they were headed to the hospital, hoping to meet Baby Ryan by day’s end. He was originially due early January, but due to his size and her blood pressure rising, they had begun to talk about taking him a few days before Christmas. HG and I were headed to Arkansas early afternoon, and at that point, he was nowhere near arriving, so we started out for Arkansas, anxious to hear more news soon. Ryan Brickell Brown was born at 6:43 p.m. on December 11th and was 8 lbs 1 oz and 20.75 inches long. As soon as we got home on Sunday afternoon, HG and I headed to Germantown Methodist to meet him. HG was more shy than I expected (said she’d wait and hold her own sister), but she just smiled and smiled at him. We are so glad to have him here finally, just in time to share in Christmas with us!
