Christmas Day

On Christmas morning, HG woke up in Mommy’s bed, and before I could get to the bathroom and back, HG was already running into the living room to follow Santa’s trail of Hershey’s kisses. Cheater, cheater, pumpkin eater! She found a sleeping bag, plasma car, Pumpkin (Palace Pet remote control dog), a singing Elsa doll, and odds and ends like a connect the dots book and notecards. The cats went WILD over Pumpkin, and I’m not sure they’ve gotten used to the rattle and roll of the plasma car either!

She later moved on to her gifts from us under the tree and found a Frozen snow cone maker, Ole Miss cheerleader outfit, a tack box, etc. As her last gift, she opened a present of Minnie Mouse ears and a note that told her we are going to DISNEY WORLD in 21 days! We’ve been planning this trip for six months, and it’s been killing me not to share it with her. It was such a relief to finally tell her, and she was appropriately excited. We sent her on a scavenger hunt around the house to find out more about what we’d be doing while we were there. I think she was as excited to do that as she was to find out about her treats while at Disney!

Spiffer and Granddaddy came over later that morning, and HG had a ton of fun with their gifts, including a huge American Girl horse. Soon, it was time for our family ‘lupper,’ and all of her grandparents, Bubba, Bill, and William came over. She had a great time being a hostess and had a lovely day playing with her teacher and restaurant kits, Legos, and My Little Pony and painting on her new canvases. She is such a blessed and happy little girl. Love seeing Christmas through the eyes of a child!
