Today we enjoyed celebrating our friend Graham’s first birthday today! It is always fun to watch the babies play together and to think about how big they have gotten over the last year. Helen Grace walked me around by the finger for most of the party, but she did show off how she can take some steps on her own. By the end of the party though, she was in no mood for Mama to steer her toward the car or for Mama to pick her up, so she threw a good hissy fit. What’s a mama to do? I just stood there and let her get it out of her system until I could gather her up and run for the car, throwing apologies at all of our friends as I sprinted away! Oh, what are we going to do during the Terrible 2’s!
This afternoon, we went over to the pool to celebrate Team USA’s tie with England, and HG had fun flirting with all of Daddy’s teammates. She played in the big girl pool for a while, and then the two of us went to Grandma’s to play in her baby crab pool. Grandma and Geggy soon got home and showed me HG’s newest trick…check out the copier video below. Hilarious!
We have had a VERY HOT but fun day out in the sun!

Helen Grace has figured out how to work Grandma’s copier, and she’s fascinated by pushing the button, watching the paper run through and out the slot, and following the light across the top. She’s Grandma’s Copier Queen!
She also found the jute box at Grandma’s today and was dancing away to the tunes!
