And...

WE'RE HAVING A LITTLE GIRL!!!!!!

We got to officially meet our baby girl yesterday during our 20-week ultrasound, and we are just estatic to see all her little fingers and toes wiggling and hear her heart beating up a storm. She just flipped and jumped around and seemed as happy to see us as we were to see her. She weighs 11 oz., her waist was 7 inches around, and her femur was 1 inch long- itty bitty! We are truly and beautifully blessed by this little miracle that I have the honor of carrying inside my body for the next few months. I am really feeling her move now- even during the day. I can definitely understand now that I know how long her arms and legs are!

We had our parents and Bubba over for dinner last night to share the news with them. I swear my mother almost disowned me for not calling her immediately after our appointment, but this was one of those big moments in life that I just wanted to share with our parents in person. We ushered them into the dining room and revealed a cake that had a baby's face on it...with a pink paci and a pink bow in her hair and a pink bib! And then the squealing began! I gave each of them a pink and white bib for the baby to wear at their house. After we finally got Bubba off the phone from calling every known family member and friend, we had the best dinner together, watching the ultrasound video over and over, pointing out all her little organs and body parts and laughing at her squirming around.

We are so excited about this little precious baby, and we just can't wipe that silly grin off our faces!

Baby Toohig Pool

So still no real development on the baby bump- continues to look more like an inner tube than a basketball. We are within a week of finding out the baby's gender on January 26th. We are going to have a big reveal for our parents that night after work, so the formal online announcement will probably be late that night or early the next morning. We've started a pool for the baby's gender, due date, etc. Check out the icon/link on the sidebar, and let us know what you're thinking!

Baby T has a crib!

The baby has a bed! While John nursed a very sick Rebel cat yesterday, Moma, Daddy, Bubba, and I went to Woodland, MS, to pick up the crib I have been lusting over. I couldn't resist buying it since it was such a steal there- it cost at least $300 less than at other stores! We had a great time, and it was quite an adventure to find the place. I've never seen camo print seat cushions on a on front porch before, but I guess everyone has their own style. :) I'm anxious to get the crib all put together and in the nursery. That means we have to find a new place for the guest room furniture first though- that will have to be another day! And p.s., after a big shot and some antibiotics, our Rebel is starting to act like himself again, thank goodness.

The Kitties' Special Touch

Rebel and Mocha wanted to put their own special touch on the nursery, so they have picked out a gift for the baby...a kitty cat nite lite (www.offi.com)! It is a lot taller than I expected, but it puts off the perfect amount of light for a baby's room and I love the symbolism- John and I both come from cat-loving families. I wonder if this kitty cat in the nursey will keep the real kitties OUT?? Keep your fingers crossed that Baby Toohig isn't allergic to cats!

16 Weeks

So please don't laugh at me, but at Week 16, I'm starting to "feel" pregnant at last...John has finally declared that I have a bump that people (other than me) can see, although I'm getting picked on a lot about it not really existing yet! We have a furniture trip to Woodland, MS planned for Saturday. That will make it feel very real too. So excited and so blessed to have made it this far!

'Two Higs' Become Three!

We are having a baby on June 18th!
We are so excited and have been blessed with an easy pregnancy so far.

We were able to see our little peanut in an ultrasound at 8 weeks and have been able to hear the heartbeat at our 12 and 16 week check-ups. What a beautiful sound! I get so nervous before every check-up, and that little pitter patter is music to my ears! We will find out the sex of the baby at our 20 week check-up on January 27th, so I counting down the minutes. We will finally be able to plan and make some decisions on bedding, furniture, etc.- the Type A planner in me is very much looking forward to getting started preparing for this little miracle!

So far, I've only gained a pound or so, but my pants are so tight. I have started experimenting in the world of maternity pants, and I have a lot to learn!

Bubba came with us on a recent furniture shopping trip, and Moma and I found Bubba and Daddy passed out in the chairs- classic pic!
