Snow…Again!

This has been the most bizarre winter. There have been more forecasts of snow than I can ever remember, and a lot of them have actually brought produced some white stuff. We had a brief tease of snow this past week, and schools let out and then the snow magically evaporated. We Mississippians tend to not get excited about forecasts for snow since it rarely lives up to our expectations. But then a few days ago, we started hearing news of a really big storm coming in on Wednesday around lunch. Man, this one did not disappoint! The snow started pouring down around noon, and within 30 minutes, roofs, yards, and streets were covered. It snowed and snowed and snowed, and by the time it finally stopped around dinnertime, I believe we got between three and four inches. Helen Grace was too excited to sleep, so instead of napping, we snuggled on the couch, watched Barney, and played the day away. When John got home later in the afternoon, we went outside to play. She wasn’t as crazy about it as last time, but she did walk around and kick the powder a good bit. I love snow days with my little snow bunny!

Granddaddy came by this morning to drop something off, and Helen Grace stood at the window to watch for him.granddaddyShe says new words each day- just blows my mind. Of course, today she was just throwing around “snow!” like she’s been saying it for years!

After wearing herself out in the snow, she came inside, climbed up on her daddy on the couch, and laid on top of him. CIMG7564 CIMG7565
