B-A-R-N-E-Y

Helen Grace has a new obsession…B-A-R-N-E-Y! It’s gotten to the point that every waking moment in the car is spent demanding Barney. I broke down on Wednesday and downloaded a $9.99 Barney movie on my iPhone so that I could have it in case of a meltdown. And we have used it at least five times in a pinch since then. This video is hilarious. We were all sitting on the couch tonight watching ESPN, so I put on Barney for HG on my phone. She usually will blow him a kiss when it gets to that “With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you” part of the theme song, but tonight she kissed the phone- over and over!!

After spending last Monday and Tuesday with my mom, she has now become fascinated with Itsy Bitsy Spider, especially the “Down came the rain” part. When you start singing it, she does the spider motions really fast and then gets her hands up and ready for the rain to fall!

Helen Grace has started doing some freakin’ adorable stuff in the last few days- all kinds of new noises and words. When you ask her what a snake says, she goes ‘sssssss.’ And a chicken, she says ‘bawk.’ And the best- when you ask her what  a bunny rabbit does, she bounces up and down (her version of ‘hip hop’). Sometimes she will do a silent ‘roar’ but with really cute hand motions when you ask her what a lion says. She’s finally getting her ‘yes’ nod down and is so proud of herself. I’m desperate to get her on video showing all of you these things. Hopefully, she’ll cooperate soon. She would rather watch a video of herself on camera than actually be recorded. Such a ham!

And to end on a funny note, here’s what else Helen Grace’s been up to lately. All in one day last week, she walked right into the shower fully clothed, then peed on the floor as she got out of the shower, and finally crawled under our bed and got stuck. Also, she went with me to a doctor’s appointment, and I pulled out a book to read to her in the waiting room. She grabbed it, walked across the room to a stranger, and handed the book to her. Luckily, she had kids and was more than happy to read the book to HG. Baby girl definitely keeps us on our toes!
